May Revelation

A turn of the sun

around the world

a twist of weather

in the cool drink of the day

a slow dance of rain

waltzing across a field of dirt

in the middle of May

reveals everything

that has been snoring

under the blanket of earth

all the weeds that were buried

clawing their way back to the surface

the strawberries that were seeded

bursting into colour

and the promises

of sweet flavours

to bless the tongue

and then the sun falls

and prepares for another spin
