It’s Hard to Believe

It’s hard to believe

someone has experienced grace

when they refuse to forgive

(even though

they still love to sing that hymn

we all know)

it’s hard to believe

someone has been changed by love

when they shun anyone

who doesn’t agree with them

(and use words

to stab

and slice up their reputation)

it’s hard to believe

that someone has caught a glimpse

of a heavenly world beyond

when they are busy piling up

treasures on earth

(everything that will break

and rust with time)

it’s hard to believe

but then again

they aren’t the ones

to believe in

to gain salvation
