We’ve been watching

but we can’t tell the difference between a clothing designer

and a lunatic weaving baskets

will tomorrow be any better than this

we can only hope

but faith isn’t really fashion

naked panic is what we’re supposed to wear

and that isn’t any better than wearing nothing

especially when the icy fingers of winter start tickling

where are we going

where will we be at this time next year

will we ever shake the feeling

of being shaken

of being sickened by the virus

the riots

and everything that is supposed to heal us

is anybody out there

beyond the space between our ears

now would be a good time to save us

from the joy we find in madness
